Latin Grammy winner composer Yalil Guerra and RYCY Productions presents a new concert by Latin-American Classical Composers, featuring the acclaimed “La Catrina” String Quartet.

“La Catrina”, hailed by Yo-Yo Ma as wonderful ambassadors of music, the La Catrina Quartet (LCSQ) is one of the most sought after ensembles on tour today. Their unique blend of Latin-American and standard repertoire has proved enormously entertaining for its diverse audiences, catering to the more traditional concertgoers while also attracting the next generation of listeners. Their infectious personalities infuse their playing, creating truly compelling performances. The La Catrina Quartet has a triple mission: to perform the masterworks of the string quartet repertoire, to promote Mexican and Latin American concert music worldwide and to work closely with composers in order to promote the performance of new music.

Premiere in Peru of Guerra’s composition “Sofía” by Guitarist Alexis Méndez.

Lima, Peru will be the stage for the site of the “25th International Guitar Festival”, organized by the Instituto Cultural Peruano Norteamericano (ICPNA)

Cuban guitarist Alexis Méndez will play Guerra’s composition “Sofía” (dedicated to the composer’s daughter) in its Peruvian premiere. The concert date is: 20th of March, 2014.

Burbank, CA. - RYCY Productions proudly announces the world premiere of Yalil Guerra’s new piano composition titled “Toccata”, dedicated to the talented young Cuban pianist Leonardo Gell in the concert “Estrenos Latinoamericanos” (“Latin American Premieres”), in Havana, Cuba.

The concert will take place at the Sala Ignacio Cervantes in the concert series titled “Serenata Cubana”. Maestro Gell will also perform compositions by Hubert de Blanck, Andrés Alén, Ernán López-Nusa, José María Vitier, Keyla Orozco y Aldo López Gavilán.
